The Thornhill Reds improved to 4-0 in 2024, with 16-6 and 9-4 wins Sunday afternoon in Kendal.
In game one it was a Russell McGibbon grand slam that powered a ten run fifth inning, leading the Reds to a five inning mercy win. Kravice Batts also went deep, a two run home run for his first hit of 2024.
Game two saw the Reds put up an eight run second, and complete the sweep with the 9-4 victory. Chadwick Cameron made a successful return to the mound, firing two scoreless, and Zach Kourous led the Thornhill offense with three hits including two doubles.
Joseph Handley made appearances in both games on the hill, tossing three shutout innings on the day. Matthew Kanhai picked up win number two out of the Reds bullpen in game one, holding the Eagles silent for two plus innings of work. Philip Arturi picked up the win in game two, working a couple innings for his first appearance in a Reds uniform.
