The Thornhill Reds got some key hits and strong pitching, to topple the visiting Kendal Eagles 13-3 in seven innings on another chilly Wednesday night in May.
Mack Major improved to (2-0) on the year, with six innings of work to pick up the win for Thornhill. The righty scattered six hits and struck out four. Ben Teplin blasted a three run HR, his first of 2019, and finshed with a couple of hits and five RBI. Also powering the offense was veteran Sean Sutton who went 2-2, with two doubles, two HBP, three RBI, BB, while reaching base in all five plate appearances and scoring four times.
The win puts the Reds in first place in the GTBL standings at 3-1, and next play Monday night against East York at Stan Wadlow Park. Andy Orfankos is expected to make his second start of 2019 for Thornhill.
