On a chilly Saturday night the Thornhill Reds got some great pitching, and took advantage of some sloppy play by the Red Sox to win 7-5 at Don Beer Park.
Jaz Shergill(1-0) started and worked six innings, fanning nine and allowing two earned runs for the victory. Josh Appel worked the final three frames, allowing no earned runs and setting down four by way of the strike out to earn his first save of 2019.
Sean Sutton led the offense with a 2-3 night, and Kravice Batts also chipped in with two hits and four steals to continue a hot start to his 2019 campaign.
The Reds next action is Wednesday at Bishops Cross, where the Kendal Eagles make their first GTBL visit in their inaugural season at AAA.
