The Thornhill Reds exploded for thirteen hits in a lopsided 12-0 mercy win at home against the Martingrove Sox on Wednesday night.
Russ McGibbon hit a first inning two run home run, his first of the year, and it would be all the offence the Reds would need on the night. Newcomer Ben Teplin had three hits in his GTBL debut, and Zach Lampreia also chipped in with a couple of hits for Thornhill.
Four arms combined on the shutout, with Josh Appel working the first four scoreless. Mitch Sutton(1-0) worked a quick fifth to swoop the win, and both Hunter Greenough and Jeremiah Groulx were also good in their return to the Reds on the mound.
Thornhill is back at it Thursday night in Newmarket, and will send Mack Major to the mound against the Hawks.
