The Thornhill Reds claimed a bunch of hardware at the 2023 GTBL awards banquet, headlined by Jonas Press claiming the league MVP and Hitter of the Year awards.
In his second season with the Reds, power hitting Press led the Thornhill offensive attack all season long and was duly rewarded by the league voters in receiving the GTBL's most prestigious award. Jonas was also named to the leagues first all star team. The corner outfielder will sign with the Reds juniors for 2024, adding some punch to what looks to be one of the strongest rosters on the young club in quite some time.
Kravice Batts picked up his Playoff MVP award, after helping to lead the Reds to the 2023 title. Harrison Lampreia scooped the league's most improved player award, while Argenis Paz took home the Che Andrews Memorial trophy awarded to the player who displays the finest qualities of a GTBL member. Rounding out the list of major award winners in 2023, manager Nolan Revin took home his fifth Manager of the Year award after guiding the Reds to the GTBL pennant and championship.
